Eighteen students joined the society during the ceremony, held April 28.
The purpose of the Society is to recognize outstanding scholarship in the French language and its literatures, to increase the knowledge and appreciation of Americans for the cultural contributions of the French-speaking world, and to stimulate and to encourage French and francophone cultural activities.Christian Hoyos '11 signs into the Pi Delta Phi book, making his membership official. The society is for undergraduate and graduate students at accredited public and private colleges and universities in the United States. Vivian Foung '12 receives her society pin and certificate. Seniors were given a cord to be worn on graduation day.Ruth Lazenby '10 is welcomed to the society. Poisson lit three candles colored in blue, white and red to symbolize the French flag - "liberte- egalite -fraternite."
