Dierker discusses her take-aways from teaching a "first-generation MOOC" on statistics

Forbes followed up with Professor of Psychology Lisa Dierker, who recently finished teaching her first massive open online course (MOOC), “Passion Driven Statistics,” on Coursera. Dierker discussed how the course was a great learning experience for the Wesleyan students hired to mentor online participants; the wide variety of students drawn to the MOOC, and their various motivations; and lessons learned from a “first-generation MOOC.”

“I did it at a great time,” she said. “This is exploding. It was a first generation MOOC experience, but MOOCs could change everything.”
