As part of Wesleyan's Giving Tuesday celebration, members of the Class of 2014 attended the semi-formal Senior Class Reception Dec. 3 in Beckham Hall. Seniors enjoyed live entertainment, listened to remarks by alumni, and learned about the Seniors of Wesleyan Annual Gift (SWAG). A tradition that dates back nearly 20 years, SWAG allows graduating seniors the opportunity to give back to Wesleyan and set the standard for joining the Wesleyan community of alumni. More than 100 students made presentations at the Quantitative Analysis Center Research Poster Session Dec. 6 in Beckham Hall. The poster session served as the students' QAC 201 final exam. The event provides students with the opportunity to share the fruits of their work with others. Several Wesleyan faculty and alumni evaluated the students' poster presentations. The Quantitative Analysis Center at Wesleyan has been developing an introductory course aimed at attracting a larger number of students to opportunities in the area of data analysis and applied statistics. The Friends of the Wesleyan Library held its annual Book Sale on Nov. 2 at Olin Library. More than 3,500 books were offered at prices from $1 to $10.  Members of the lacrosse team (see last photo) helped by moving more than 100 heavy boxes of books for the sale. The Friends of the Wesleyan Library is a community of readers dedicated to celebrating and enjoying books of all kinds from vellum bound manuscripts to humble paperbacks to the latest digital innovation. More than 50 children enrolled in Wesleyan's Neighborhood Preschool participated in the annual NPS Halloween Parade on Oct. 31. The children, accompanied by their parents, grandparents, teachers and care-takers, paraded through Exley Science Center and stopped at Olin Library and North College to sing songs. The Center for the Arts presented the 37th annual Navaratri Festival, celebrating the traditional culture of India with performances by some of the country's leading artists on Oct. 10-13. One of India's major festival celebrations, Navaratri is a time to see family and friends, enjoy music and dance, and seek blessings for new endeavors.
