Jackson Translates Brazilian Novel

Elizabeth Jackson, visiting assistant professor of Portuguese in the Language Resource Center, translated a contemporary Brazilian novel, The Five Seasons of Love. The book was published by Host Publications in 2008. In The Five Seasons of Love, Brazilian writer Joao Almino presents a compelling and sympathetic portrait of a woman whose life has not turned out as she anticipated, and whose once audacious dreams have been replaced by half-truths, failures, and frustration. The book was the winner of the Casa de las Americas 2003 Literary Award.
