Dupuy Discusses Run-Off Election in Haiti
Expert on Haiti says presidential candidates need to convince citizens and international donors
Commenting in a recent story in The New York Times, Alex Dupuy, Class of 1958 Distinguished Professor of Sociology, chair of African American studies, says the run-off candidates, Mr. Marigat and Mr. Martelly, do not differ much in their policies. The real test will be how they are perceived, not only by the people of Haiti, but also by the international donors who ultimately set the country’s economic agenda.
