Initially allowed by the government, the statue of the "radical philosopher" has now been taken away

In a recent issue of The Economist, Stephen Angle, professor of philosophy, professor of East Asian Students, discusses the recent removal of a 31 foot-tall statue of Confucius that the Chinese government allowed to be installed in front of the National Museum of China on Beijing’s Tiananmen Square.
