Russell House was open throughout the day as a quiet space for those who wished to gather in remembrance of Johanna. The space included photos of Johanna and a memory book. At 1 p.m. people gathered at Russell House walked to the steps of Memorial Chapel where the South College bells played a few of Johanna’s favorite songs. This was followed by a campus-wide moment of silence, then a brief memorial that included prayer, poetry and a capella songs. On Wednesday Night, May 5, Buddhist house provided an open space for reflection and remembrance led in the style of a Quaker meeting.
