The event benefited the American Red Cross. Emily Hoffman '10, of Wesleyan's Jewish Program House Bayit, directs incoming donors to the blood drive. The Bayit house has incorporated the planning of the annual blood drive into their house mission statement. The original planner and Bayit resident Zeeba Khalil '09 has been organizing the event during her time at Wesleyan and the Bayit will continue that work. Ana Begoza '12 and Genevieve Hutchings '12 wait for their turn to donate blood. The process takes about an hour. Phlebotomist Robert Guerrette checks on graduate student Evan Tingle. Matthew Perry '11 takes a seat after his donation. Red Cross staff offered snacks and drinks to donors, who were asked to replenish and rehydrate before leaving.
