Proceeds from the event totaling $30,000 will benefit financial aid. Tickets were sold for $5 each and sold out within 3 hours. The revenue generated was matched by the Wesleyan Student Asembly (WSA) and that combined total was matched again by an outside donor. Only Wesleyan students were invited to the Girl Talk concert. The event was co-sponsored by Student Activities and Leadership Development, the Wesleyan Student Assembly's Student Budget Committee, University Relations, the Financial Aid Office and the Vice President of Student Affairs.
