All NewsSnapshotsGSAC, Wesleyan Students Teach Minds in Motion Workshops Olivia DrakeMarch 22, 20104minAt right, Jegadish Gunasagaran ’11, Na Le Dang ’11 and Jacob Litke ‘10 participated in a Minds in Motion program March 6 at Snow Elementary School in Middletown. The students taught fifth graders how to compare DNA from five different suspects taken from an imaginary crime scene. The Wesleyan undergraduates are students of Ishita Mukerji, professor of molecular biology and biochemistry. From the experiment the fifth-graders can identify which suspects’ DNA was found at the crime scene. Wesleyan's Green Street Art Center instructors Eric Quinones (in red) and Kassandra Feliciano (in blue) taught a hip-hop dance workshop during Minds in Motion. Green Street Art Center instructor Jocelyn Pleasant taught drumming. Minds in Motion features hands-on, fast-paced, high-interest workshops for gifted and high-ability children in grades K-8. Keynote addresses and workshops for adults are offered free of charge to parents and educators.
