Brighter Dawns, founded by Tasmiha Khan ’12, is a charitable organization committed to improving health in the slums of Bangladesh. Race participants paid a $10 entry fee for the field and trail run. More than $700 was raised at the 5K. Lisa LaPlant, assistant to the secretary of the university, ran the 5K with her dog, Gabriel. Participants sign up for the fun-run, with treats and lots of water available for the athletes and their friends.
