The debate is being held as part of Wesleyan's celebration of Constitution Day, which commemorates the signing of the United States Constitution on Sept 17, 1787. The debate, attended by several students, staff and faculty, focused the famous "Commerce Clause" of the U.S. Constitution, a cornerstone of the document, as well as the subject of intense debate and interpretation for more than 200 years.
