Wesleyan Thinks Big is a lecture series designed to give audiences presentations by popular faculty in a format similar to “TED” talks. Sarah Mahurin, visiting assistant professor of English, spoke about “What We Talk About When We Talk About Clothes.” Meredith Hughes, assistant professor of astronomy, spoke about “Life in the Universe.” Andrea Roberts, visiting assistant professor of biology, spoke about “Jury Duty, Stem Cells and Global Warming: The Importance of a Science in the Liberal Arts Education.” Tushar Irani, assistant professor of letters, spoke about “The Value of Learning.” Students nominated their favorite professors earlier this semester to speak at Wesleyan Thinks Big.
