This exhibition of more than 40 prints and photographs from the Davison Art Center collection explores the depiction of food and drink across five centuries.The gallery is open noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. The exhibit is free of charge and open to the public. It’s organized in conjunction with Wesleyan’s campus-wide exploration, Feet to the Fire: Feast or Famine. Art and Appetite will close Dec. 12. The exhibit includes Kathe Kollwitz’s work, which protested starvation among the working classes in Germany; pop artist Claes Oldenburg painting, which monumentalized modern fast food with “Flying Pizza;” and Dieter Roth’s artwork, that contains cheese as a printing material in his “Small Landscape.” (Photos by Emily Brackman '11)
