Northrop met with students in grades 1-5 who are part of Green Street’s AfterSchool program. Northrop taught the students how to make their own silicone polymer putty with glue, water, Borax and food coloring. Pictured, GSTLC student Genesis Moreta stirs up her putty. Darcey Northrop, the daughter of Brian Northrop, mixes the putty with her hands. “The students were delighted with their efforts in learning about viscoelastics and in stirring up some gooey gak,” said Sandra Guze, GSTLC education and program coordinator.
