(Photos by Dat Vu ’15) Seager is a pioneer in the field of exoplanets, specifically in characterizing the atmospheres and searching for life on those distant worlds. Her talk addressed the age-old question: “Are we alone?” According to Assistant Professor of Astronomy Seth Redfield, students, faculty, and members of the community who attended the talk found it to be very thought-provoking. Following the lecture, Seager had a continuous line of people waiting to speak with her one-on-one, said Redfield. The talk was sponsored by the Astronomy Department, the Allbritton Center for the Study of Public Life, the Baldwin Lecture Fund, and the Connecticut Space Grant Consortium.
