On Oct. 26, members of the campus community celebrated the Robert F. Schumann Institute of the College of the Environment (COE) with a reception, remarks, and keynote speakers. The event was held at the Fries Center for Global Studies in Fisk Hall.

Director of the COE and Robert F. Schumann Professor of Environmental Studies Barry Chernoff (center), speaks with David and Ford Schumann during the reception.The Institute works to integrate approaches to learning, research, and communication about environmental issues in ways that extend the COE’s educational programs within and beyond Wesleyan. Special emphasis is given to the areas of civic engagement, global studies, food, and the arts.
