Will Ratner ’22 shared his poster titled “Relationship between Coping Strategies and Self-Esteem.” Ratner’s advisor is Sarah Kamens, the David Scott Williams Visiting Professor of Psychology. Sammi Diep ’20 and Helena Sanchez ’21 presented their poster titled “What’s Sexual Orientation and Race Got to Do With It? Examining Multiple Domains of Psychosocial Adjustment at University.” Their advisor is Royette Tavernier, assistant professor of psychology. Ori Cantwell ’21 presented research on “Detention Centers and Migrants’ Mental Health.” Cantwell’s advisor is Sarah Kamens. Medha Swaminathan ’19 speaks about her research titled “An Exploration into Factors that Affect the Recognition of Morphologically Complex Suffixed Words.” Her advisor is Barbara Juhasz, the Jeffrey L. Shames Professor of Civic Engagement and associate professor of psychology. Mubarak Sanni ’20, Saakshi Kakar ’21, Paul Willems ’20 presented a poster titled “Influences of Altruism in Millennials & Gen Z.” Their advisor is Shellae Versey, assistant professor of psychology. Bryan Chong ’21 discussed his research titled “Attitudes towards Disclosing and Discussing Mental Health Challenges at Wesleyan.” Chong’s advisor is Sarah Kamens. Rachel Pomeranz ’21 presented a poster titled “Gender Differences in Views of Reflected Self-Appraisals and Self-Esteem.” Her advisor is Sarah Kamens. Graduate student Tatum Leclair presented her study on “Ethnic Identity in Chinese and Korean Adoptees: Exploration, Components, Expression.” Her advisor is Robert Steele, professor of psychology. Kaila Scott ’19 speaks to Barbara Juhasz about her study titled “The Intergenerational Transmission of Racial Attitudes: The Effects of Colorblind Parenting.” Her advisor is Anna Shusterman, associate professor of psychology. Shani Erdman ’19 shared her study titled “Women Transforming Peace.” Her advisor is Robert Steele. Hannah Bolotin ’19 presented a poster titled “Mitigating Implicit Racial Bias among Criminal Court Jurors: Intervention through Instruction.” Her advisor is Steven Stemler, associate professor of psychology. Tamare Adrien ’19 shared her research titled “The World Isn’t Our Own: Subjective Experiences from Tropical Storm Erika among Youth from Dominica.” Her advisor is Royette Tavernier. Joel Groves ’21 presented his group’s poster titled “Marginalized Identities and Academic Support.” His advisor is Sarah Kamens. Katie Vasquez ’20 presented a poster titled “Partition Dependence in Preschool Years: Evidence from a Single Choice Task.” Her advisor is Hilary Barth, associate professor of psychology. Amabel Youngbin Jeon ’19 shared her study titled “The Role of Social Group Membership on the Incidental Group-Reference Effect.” Her advisor is Kyungmi Kim, assistant professor of psychology. Ahmed Aldarmaki ’21 shared his research titled “The Associations between Smoking Status and Mental Health Issues among Adults.” His advisor is Lisa Dierker. Grant Hill ’20 spoke about his group’s study titled “Know Your Sleep Status: Eveningness Chronotype and Sleep Problems Predict Larger Subjective-Objective Sleep Discrepancies.” His advisor is Royette Tavernier.
